June Calendar

EVERY WEDNESDAY - 9 AM to 1 PM and 5:30 PM to 9:30 pm
FRIDAYS - June 20 and 27 - 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM

OPEN STUDIO: Did you miss a workshop or have a special project that you want to create? Open Studio times are designed for you to make WHATEVER YOU WANT! One flat fee of $10 includes use of the studio space, all tools, kiln firing, equipment and guidance. Materials are extra – price sheet available at studio. Prior glass fusing experience is not required to attend an open studio time, but it is helpful.

FRIDAY, JUNE 6 - 2 PM to 5 PM, and 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM


OPEN STUDIO and POWER TOOLS FOR GLASS: GREAT IDEA FOR FATHER’S DAY! Come hang out with Phil and Cat in the studio – cutting, grinding, drilling, polishing… Bring something that you have made for your Dad to finish – or buy a ready-to-finish project at the studio! Sun catchers, indoor/outdoor sun/wind chimes, pattern bar dishes, letter openers, key chains, wine or vinegar bottle stoppers... You never know what might be here to create! Project prices: $10-$50 and UP, if you want to go really LARGE! Make one, or make ‘em all! Can’t decide? Get Dad a gift certificate!

SATURDAY, JUNE 21 - 1 PM to 4 PM


WEARABLE ART: ADD SOME BLING to your wardrobe with Dichroic Glass fashion accessories and adornments!

· PENDANTS, EARRINGS, PINS, BELT BUCKLES, BARRETTES, BEADS, BOLO TIES: Learn to make cabochons that you can turn into all kinds of wearable art!


· BUTTONS & SHAWL PINS/STICKS: Do you knit, crochet or sew? Come learn how to make fabulous focal point buttons and shawl pins to accent your handmade garments and handbags! Or make your own custom buttons for anything that you sew!


· Fees for cabochons, buttons, shawl pins— Studio fee of $10 (includes kiln firings, use of equipment and tools, and instruction), plus fees for cabachons as follows: Large cabochons (about 1-1/2” diameter) are $8 each. Medium cabochons (about 3/4" to 1”) are $6 each. Small cabochons (about 1/4" to 1/2" ) are $2 each. Shawl pins (up to 2-1/2” per side for square/rectangle/triangle) are $10 each for plain glass, $15 each for dichroic glass. Make as few or as many as you want! All Findings are extra— pin backs, pendant/earring bails, button shanks, and shawl sticks (wood and glass).


SATURDAY, JUNE 28 - 1 PM to 4 PM

GARDEN ART: OUTDOOR COLOR THAT YOU DON’T HAVE TO WATER! Are you waiting for your plants to bloom? Come make some permanent outdoor décor to add color to your garden that doesn’t require weeding, watering or fertilizing... Sun chimes, garden stakes, hanging displays for house numbers, bird baths (can be clay or glass!), even mosaic bowling ball garden globes that won’t blow away! Garden globe (bowling ball) projects require that you bring your own bowling ball—and also plan to take a few days to finish your project. Reservations and pre-payment or pre-purchase of some supplies must be made two weeks in advance for this workshop. Please call for more information about materials to required.

SOME OTHER IDEAS FOR YOUR OPEN STUDIO PROJECTS!

SCRAP GLASS DÉCOR : The Ultimate in Glass Recycling! Make a gorgeous decoration or functional fused glass item for your home using scrap glass! Add texture and dimension to your piece using dots, squiggles, and chips of scrap glass. Take the challenge—see if you can make something entirely from scrap glass! From spoon rest and soap dish size, up to large dishes and sun catchers … It can be done!


CLAY MOLD DESIGN: Create a clay mold for your fused glass project! Carve, stamp, or press objects into clay to personalize your glass pieces fused on the mold. Create matching sets and companion pieces with your trademark design. Think of designs you like - bring them with you! Many stamps in the studio available for your use, or bring your own. All carving tools and equipment will be provided. Please wear clothing that can tolerate a little bit of dust and “mud.” Reservations for mold design must be made one week in advance.
